Sussex County was Deale County before 1683.

Contains proceedings of the Levy Court, County Court, Court of Common Pleas, Orphans' Court, Court of Quarter Sessions, special courts. The records cover the time periods Dec 1680-June 15, 1681; June 9, 1685-Sept. 16, 1686; Oct. 6, 1685-Sept. 14, 1686; March 6, 1688-June 13, 1695.

Records include appointments, commissions and bonds of officials, records of bridges and roads, taxation, wills, land grants, deeds, births, marriages, apprentice indentures, bounties, etc.
