William Robbins was born in 1761 in Randolph (then Rowan) County, North Carolina. He married Bethiah Vickery in 1778. They had least one son. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. After the war the family migrated to Franklin County, Virginia, then Henry County, Kentucky, and Decatur County, Indiana. He died in Decatur County in 1834. Descendants lived in Indiana and elsewhere.

Includes the families of William's brothers and other Robbins-Robins families.
