Notes

These films are the best copies available. Original cards have been destroyed.

The index is in two formats: 1900-1939 is a card index and 1975-1992 is a computer print-out. The card index was created by the Division of Vital Statistics which was under the Department of Health in Colorado.

There are no statewide indexes for pre-1900 and 1940-1974. Researchers should check indexes in each county. The index for 1900-1939 has omitted many names, has poor alphabetizations and many cards are out-of-order.

The card index is arranged alphabetically by groom's name and gives county, names of husband and wife, their ages, race, date and place of marriage, certificate number, and other information. The computer print-out gives the names of the groom and bride, the county, and date of ceremony.
