The church existed as early as 1772 as the First Church of Alexandria or Presbyterian Church of Alexandria. It was closed in 1886 or 1889. A new church formed in 1949 as the Old Meeting House Presbyterian Church or Presbyterian Meeting House or Old Presbyterian Meeting House.

Early records are under the name of First Presbyterian Church. Later records are under the Old Meeting House.
