Records of the Wommack/Womack/Wammack family originally of England. The earliest known ancestor, Richard Wommack (1655-1684), was the son of Richard Wommack who received a grant of land in Henrico Co., Va. Richard Wommack (1655-1684) married Mary Puckett (b. 1656), the daughter of John and Anne Puckett of Dorset Co., England. Richard Wammack (1819-1872), the son of Elijah Wammack and Elizabeth Patterson, was born in Wilson Co., Tenn., and died in Fort Smith, Crawford Co., Arkansas. He was married to Matilda Lee Moxley (1823- 1891), the daughter of Joseph Paige Moxley and Levina Clements, ca. 1838. Later generations live in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas and elsewhere.
