The church was organized in 1822 as Middle Street Church. In 1865 it merged with High Street Church and may have been known by that name. It may also be known as Court Street Church. The name was later changed to the First Presbyterian Church.
High Street Church was organized in 1852 and part of these records are for this church until it merged with Middle Street Church.
