This church had its beginning in a Sunday School which was organized in the Wethersfield Avenue Schoolhouse in 1866. In 1868 an Ecclesiastical Society was formed, a lot purchased and a church edifice in early English style erected. The church, consisting of twenty-three members was organized in 1873. Since 1914, the church building has been used as a chapel connected with the Second Church of Christ in Hartford.
