James Ward came to America from England in 1730. Many descendants of his son, James, Jr., settled in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. William Thompson (b.1722) came from Ireland and settled in Virginia. There were many marriages among the children of these men. Descendants and relatives are traced for several of these lines. Includes some Thompson and Ward lines where no direct connection is shown with the above lines.
Includes Buchanan, Crabtree, Higginbotham, Horn (Horne), Peery, Varney, Witten and related families.
