"Records documenting Florida's state military forces, including the Florida militia, confederate volunteers, Florida State Troops, and the Florida National Guard. The earliest items list officers in the territorial militia in 1826, while the last documents trace the activities of the Florida National Guard to the outbreak of the World War I. The majority of the collection is comprised of muster rolls listing the members of individual units for a particular period. Supporting documents include correspondence. Rolls date from the pre-Seminole War period; the 2nd Seminole War; the Mexican War; the Civil War (including the rolls of Florida Union military organizations); the Spanish American War; and from the peacetime Florida Militia, Florida State Troops, and Florida National Guard"-- Guide.

Includes index by box number and also by county where unit location could be determined.
