John Mainer Sr. (fl.1672-1699), possibly transported from England to Virginia in 1663, owned land in Surry County, Virginia by 1672, and his estate was administered in 1699 by his son, John Mainer Jr. John Jr., his wife Elizabeth, and Wade Mainor moved from Virginia to Chowan County, North Carolina in 1700. John Mainer (1759-1833) was a direct descendant of John Sr. in the fifth generation, born in Granville (later Edgefield) County, South Carolina. He served in the Revolutionary War, and married Keziah Young. Descendants and relatives of John Mainer Sr. (fl.1672-1699) lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas and elsewhere. Includes probable ancestral family and genealogical data in England, Wales and elsewhere to 1066 A.D.
