Notes

Family history and descendants of Henry Kirkham (ca. 1720-1765), who first appeared in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in 1742. He was married twice: (1) to Margaret (d. in the 1750's) and (2) to Mary (last name not known). He had ten children, who were all born in Augusta County, Virginia. Some of these children later migrated to Indiana, Kentucky and Georgia with their families. Descendants live in Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia and elsewhere.

Includes allied families of Carr, Dooley, Funkhouser, Hisey, Jemison, Kelly, Lemmon, Harris, Mims, Potts, Reed, Sands, Snapp, Stephens, Stevens, Ware, Wright, Brown, Smith, Davis, Johnson, Jones, etc.
