"The computerized listing of the current sexton index [1992] is used as the index to this sexton and tombstone compilation. The index [called Salt Lake City Cemetery location report] contains name of deceased, date of death or burial and the location of such burial. The cemetery tombstone compilation has been arranged by location, first listing the plats from A to Z, and the plats Park, West and North listed last. The Y plat includes the Veterans (Vet) section. The original sexton books contained additional data, such as identity of parents or spouse, birth date and place, cause of death, place of death, and attending physician, when such information was known. These books covered the period of time from 1849 to 1888"--Pref. [Filming of sexton books can be found in the Library.].

Cemetery survey cards contain birth date and place, death date and place, name of parents, name of spouse or other data as it is known.
