Phillip Staringer (1822-1910) was born in Bavaria, Germany. He and his first wife, Theresa Satzel (1818-1877), had four children, 1857-1863, all born at Jasper, Indiana. He married 2) Catherine Rieder Horn, at Jasper, Indiana, in 1878. They had a son who was born and died at Jasper in 1879. He was buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Jasper, Indiana.
