Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Martin (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Flanders, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. In the 1600's, some immigrated to Virginia. One ancestor was the Huguenot immigrant, Jean Martain (John Martin) and his wife, Margaret who settled in Manakintown, Virginia in 1700. In the 1700's, other Martins also settled in Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, the Louisiana Purchase, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, the Mississippi Territory, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, the Northwest Territory, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Spanish United States, Tennessee, and Vermont. During the 1800's, some Martins went to Canada, Mexico, and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma (especially in the Chickasaw Nation), Texas, and West Virginia. Later descendants also lived in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, and elsewhere. Some were orphans. Some possibly had American Indian bloodlines. Names of slaves are included. Information includes births, marriages, death, and other events extracted from bible records, cemeteries, census records, church records, court records, deeds, land records, military records, obituaries, probates, shared genealogies, wills, and other sources.

Also includes information about the Family History Society of Martin, which was founded in England in 1980, and published the "Martin minutes" and " Delichon urbica = The House of Martin.".
