Keith G. Newnom was born in 1923 at Flint, Michigan, the son of Clyde Leslie and Marjorie Putnam Grover Newnom. He married Dorothy Farr in 1944. Clyde Leslie Newnom was born in 1890 at Pearl, Pike County, Illinois, the son of William Newnom (1844-1919) and Mary Ellen Silver Newnom (1853-1924). He married Marjorie Putman Grover in 1921 at Lynn, Massachusetts. He died in 1966 at Berlin, Michigan. Marjorie Putnam Grover was born in 1900 at Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of Lynden Vassar Grover (1873-1930) and Grace Mabel Fuller Grover (1878-1945). She died in 1972 at Glendale, California.

Ancestors include: John Newnom (1612-ca. 1675) of Kent, England, and Talbot County, Maryland; George Silver (1751-1839) of Germany, Maryland, and Burke County, North Carolina; John Meshech Grover (1781-1838) of Norfolk County, England and Strmont, Nova Scotia; and Thomas Fuller (1619-1690) of Reddenhall, England, and Dedham, Massachusetts.
