Physical

on 2 microfilm reels ; 35 mm.

Notes

These are minutes for the Board of Overseers of the Poor, which usually met annually. Even though the minute book, 1782-1862, mentioned there would be a meeting in July 1863, that meeting seems never to have taken place. The Civil War might have prevented meetings from taking place between 1862 and 1865.

Contains meeting minutes, which included orders, motions, levies, delinquent accounts, financial records, report from and allocation of funds to the poor house, allocation of funds to individuals, etc.

Microfilm of original records in the Rockingham County Courthouse in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
