Thomas Greer, born ca. 1710, emigrated from Ireland to Wilmington, N.C. ca. 1740, and settled near Fayetteville. He married Susanna Carver sometime thereafter. He died ca. 1783. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
