Samuel R. Owsley was born 17 February 1807 in Halifax Co., Virginia. He was the son of John Owsley and Jeriah Gilletine. Samuel married Lucy Betterton 12 December 1829 in Ohio. They lived in Ohio and were the parents of twelve children. Samuel died 27 October 1864 in Ohio. Descendants lived in Ohio, Missouri, Kansas and elsewhere.
Includes information on the Hobart, Seeley and Thistlethwaite families.
