Volumes A & B are deeds relating to Columbia County from Portage and Brown counties.
Indexes are arranged in date order by date of reception and the volume numbers are not in the same order. Part of the arrangement of volumes is type of instrument. Because of the arrangement a volume may be indexed under more than one date. The records included are deeds, warranty deeds, quit claim deeds, certificate of descendancy, deeds for infants, adminstrators deeds, tax deeds, sheriff's deeds, and contracts. Some books have more than one type.
Some instruments contain probate type information.
Includes grantor and grantee indexes to 1926. These have surname indexes at the first of each alphabetical letter. If a surname is not in alphabetical order check this index. General indexes include materials we do not have. Some items have individual indexes.
