Microfilm of original records at the Library, Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.
The church was organized in 1831 and reorganized in 1852 as the Old Walker's Church. In 1872 it was united with the Appomattox Court House Church and in 1887 was organized separately. Walker's Church changed it name to Hixburg Church in 1909 and changed back to Walker's Church in 1957. Records indicate the church was originally in Hixburg.
