Microfilm of originals in the Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery, Alabama.
NOTE: The index to both birth and death certificates contain name, reporting county, date, volume and page number. The birth index frequently gives the child's parents rather that the child's name. The letter "P" next to the name indicates parent. Many dates are incomplete. Certificate volumes are held by the State Health Department, Bureau of Vital Statistics.
