Brian O'Brian and his sons, Cornelius and Brian, emigrated from County Clare, Ireland, in 1724, and probably settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. His son, Brian O'Brian, married twice and was the father of at least nine children. Sometime after 1795, he migrated to Rockingham County, Virginia, and from there went to Sullivan County, Tennessee, to the home of his son, James Smith O'Brien. He died in Sullivan County in 1825 at a very advanced age. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and elsewhere.

Cornelius O'Bryan, brother of Brian O'Brian, migrated to Augusta County, Virginia. In his will, he named his wife, Rebecca, two daughters and three sons. He died in 1751. Descendants listed lived in Virginia and elsewhere.
