Marriage register, no. 1, gives date and place of marriage, full name of the parties (husband and wife), race, age, marital condition (single, widowed, divorced), birthplaces, residences, parents names, husbands occupation, name of person performing marriage ceremony, and remarks.

Marriage register, no. 2, gives line number, when [license was] issued, date and place of marriage, full name of the parties (husband and wife), race, age, marital condition (single, widowed, divorced), birthplaces, residences, parents names, husbands occupation, name of person performing marriage ceremony, and date returned. Information is not always complete.

Register of births, 1853-1896, gives child's name, date and place of birth, race (if before 1863 and "colored", gives whether free or slave), sex, if born alive or dead, father's name (if before 1863, gives name of slave owner), father's occupation, residence, mother's name, how many children born at the birth, any birth defects, and sources of information. Information is not always complete. The years 1863-1868 may be missing.

Register of deaths, 1853-1896, gives the name of the deceased, race (if before 1863 and "colored", gives whether free or slave), name of slave owner (before 1863), sex, date and place of death, cause of death, age, parents' names, birthplace, occupation, spouse's name if married, and sources of information. Information is not always complete. The years 1863-1868 may be missing.

Includes index to births, marriages, & deaths, 1853-1939. This index is divided into three sections: Index to register of births, 1853-1896 (gives child's name, date, page number); Index to register of marriages [no dates] (for register no. 1; gives male or female name, page number); and Index to register of deaths, 1853-1896 (gives name of deceased, death date, page number). Marriage register, no. 2, has own index.
