Benjamin Hardin (1764-1848) was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, son of Bejamin Hardin. He married Elizabeth Scott in 1782 and they lived in Livingston County, Kentucky and later Arkansas. Ancestry traced to Benjamin Hardin who left Augusta County, Virginia in 1752 to settle in Anson County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, and elsewhere.

Includes Scott, Reed, Cornwall, and related families.
