Notes

Hans George Smitt or Smidt was born ca. 1692 probably in Falun, Kopparberg Co., Sweden. He was likely the son of Petter Smitt of Falun, Sweden. Hans married Maria Stalcop 3 March 1720 in Sweden and they immigrated to the United States sometime prior to October of 1720. Hans and Maria lived in New Castle County, Delaware and were the parents of six children. Hans died in December of 1753. Descendants lived primarily in Delaware, Virginia and elsewhere.

Includes information on the Howell, MacDonnell, Peterson, Robinson, Stalcop and Worsham families.
