Notes

David Morton (1833-1898) was born in Russellville, Kentucky, and married Hannah Wilson Bottomley in 1854. He was a Methodist Episcopal pastor and died in Louisville, Kentucky. Among his ancestry as shown were two immigrant ancestors: (1) Richard Cocke (ca.1600-1665) who immigrated from England to Henrico Counnty (?), Virginia and married Mary Aston (descendants spelled the surname Cox); and (2) Henry Wood (1696-1757) who immigrated from England to Henrico County, Virginia, married Mary Cox (great-granddaughter of Richard) and settled in Goochland County, Virginia. Ancestry of David lived chiefly in Kentucky, Virginia and elsewhere.

Includes Beckwith, Caldwell, Pryor, Thornton and related families.
