Contains information from the following Athens papers: the Alabama Courier, the Alabama Farmer, the Alabama Statesman, the Alliance Banner, the Athenian, the Democrat, the Herald, the Limestone Advertiser, the Limestone News, and the Post. The Elkmont Enterprise was published in Elkmont for awhile and then switched to Athens. Newspapers abstracted from Huntsville include the Advocate, the Democrat, the Republican, and the Southern Advocate. The Knoxville Register was a Tennessee newpaper that contained a few items from Limestone County.
