"Trumbull Society was established in 1725 as Unity Society in Stratford by division of the First Society and sometimes was called North Stratford Society. A part of Stratford including this society was incorporated in October 1797 as Trumbull. ...owing to unhappy divisions in the church, it was so broken that it was "gathered" anew in 1747 as the Church of Christ in North Stratford...This church has been called by a number of names "The Church of North Stratford", "The Church of Christ in North Stratford", "The Presbyterian Church of Christ in Trumbull", "The Presbyterian Church in the First Ecclesiastical Society in Trumbull", "The Ecclesiastical Church of Christ in Trumbull", and "The Congregational Church of Trumbull".".
