John Greenwood I (d.1679) immigrated in 1634 from England to Middlesex County, Virginia. Mary Word Greenless (1824-1856), direct descendant in the 10th generation, married Redding Jefferson Loyless (1808-1870) who had moved to La Grange, Fayette County, Texas. Redding was a direct descendant in the 10th generation of a James Lawless (fl.1701- 1725), who had immigrated to Caroline County, Virginia from Ireland. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and elsewhere.
