The Cheely/Cheille/Chely family with variant spellings was in America as early as the 1600's. William Cheley was in Gloucester County, Virginia prior to 1653. Thomas Chelle (1735-40-ca. 1797) was born and died in Virginia. His wife, Mary, died in Brunswick County. Descendants and relatives scattered throughout the United States.
Includes Chealy/Cheeley/Cheely/Cheille/Cheilly/Chele(s)/Chely/ St. Chely/ Cheyle and other variant spellings. Also includes Bouldin, Branch, Mosely, Rowland, Thompson and related families.
