Microfilm of originals at the Connecticut State Library in Hartford, Connecticut.
The First Church in Guilford was organized in 1643. Part was set off as Guilford East or Second or Hammonassett Society in 1703 and part was set off as Guilford North or Third Society in May 1720. Guilford Fourth Society was established May 1730 by dissenters from the First Society. The votes of the First Ecclesiastical Society in Guilford prior to 1717 are recorded among the town acts in the third book of records of town acts.
