'Probate court record of births' v. 6-7 are a continuation of the 'Probate minutes of births' only in a different style and found under the title 'Probate court of births'. In using the delayed birth records you must check all the volumes.

The following information will help in using the index: if the volume column references 1-8 it refers to the birth records, if it refers to C-1 or C-2 references this is the Bowie City birth records (not kept at this courthouse), "BVS" refers to birth certificates housed at the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Austin, references to PM-29 and PM-30 refer to the Probate minutes v. 29-30, references to PB-1 refer to Probate minutes of births v. 1.
