Hans Jacob Koger (1710-1783), first of four immigrant brothers, immigrated from Germany to Philadelphia in 1728, settled in Augusta County, Virginia, and moved to Halifax (now Henry) County, Virginia. Descendants of the four brothers (many spelling the surname Coger) lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas and elsewhere. Includes ancestors in Germany to the 1500s.
