"The 'Moffitt Books' are scrapbooks which are made up of articles which were written and compiled by Mr. Hugh R. Moffitt when he was editor of the newspaper [the Monmouth Review (Monmouth is in Warren County, Ill.)] in the late 1800's and early 1900's. He signed his articles as "The Old Timer"-- v. 4, t.p.
Sampling showed representation from counties adjacent to Warren County, especially Henderson County.
The Monmouth Review became the Monmouth Daily Review which became the Monmouth Review Atlas which became the Daily Review Atlas.
