Hopping (1735?-1797?) was a direct descendant in the fourth generation, and was born to Mathias Hopping (and Mathias' second wife) in East Hampton, Long Island, New York. David married twice, and moved to Morriston, New Jersey and then to Augusta County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Michigan, Florida and elsewhere.
