John Bynum or Bayham was born in 1616 in England. He settled in Surry County, Virginia where he married Rosamond Blow. Descendants lived in Virginia, Louisiana, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Tennessee, and elsewhere.

Includes Clegg, Cornelius, Glover, Murphree, Van Zandt, and related families.
