Contains the will of John Carter, Indiana Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana, 1886; notes on Carters on Monroe County, Indiana; a list of Monroe family marriages, ca. 1832-1858; p. 35-54 copied from an unidentified book on the descendants of Giles Carter (1634-1699 of Henrico County, Virginia); a warranty deed, 1967, Monroe County, Indiana, Ethel Carter, widow of Charles Carter (d. 1962), to Maurice E. Shoultz and Mary M. Schoultz; a list of Carter family marriages in Frederick County, Virginia, ca. 1785-1826; a death certificate for Squire Young, Woodford, Illinois, 1917; and a outline of the ancestry of Calvert Richarson's Monroe County Richardsons (descendants of John Richardson, d. 1797 in Grayson County, Virginia).

Includes family group sheets for Thomas Holder (1809-1895 of North Carolina, Indiana, and Illinois); Charles (Carl) Holder (ca. 1763- ca. 1845 of Holland, North Carolina, and Indiana); Solomon Carmichael (1794-1883 of North Carolina and Indiana); James Kirk (ca. 1815-before 1850 of North Carolina and Monroe County, Indiana); George Wesley Kirk (b. 1827 of Monroe County, Indiana); and John W. Kirk (ca. 1815-before 1850 of North Carolina and Monroe County, Indiana).

Also includes inscription from Richardson Cemetery, Sec. 34, Benton Township, Monroe County, Indiana, on Brummetts Creek Road. Copied 1960.
