Notes

This District Court was created in 1789 and covered the counties of Accomack and Northampton. It was held in Accomack County. In 1808 it was abolished and replaced by the Superior Court of Law which covered only the Accomack County. The Superior Court of Law was replaced in 1831 by the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery (also known as the Superior Court of Law and Chancery). In 1851 the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery was replaced by the Circuit Court.
