Chiefly genealogical research of Edward Nevill McAllister on his Yates line.

Contains genealogical correspondence, copies from genealogical sketches, research reports, newspaper clippings, etc.

Chiefly ancestors and relatives of Edward A. McAllister (1904-1968). He was born at Padach, Kentucky, the son of Edward Severn and Pearl Annette Nevill McAllister. He married Annabelle Cox of Liberty, Missouri. They were living at Houston, Texas, at the time of his death. He died at Tulsa, Oklahoma, while on a trip to Missouri. He was buried at Liberty, Missouri. His mother, Pearl Annette Nevill McAllister, was born in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the daughter of Edwin Jarrett Nevill and Mary Mildred Yates Nevill, and the granddaughter of Joseph Arthur Yates.

Yates ancestors include George Yate, who settled in Maryland ca. 1664, and Captain George Yates (ca. 1728-1777) of Caroline County, Virginia.
