This book gives the ancestry of four families. The first is the family of Johannes Breyhel (John Broyles) who was born in 1679 to Conrad and Margaretha (Schelling) Breyel (Breuel) in Dusslingen, Würtemberg, Germany. He married in 1703 to Ursula Ruop and they immigrated with their family in 1717 to Virginia. Another immigrant family of 1717 was that of Johann Philipp Paulitsch (Philip Paulitz). He was born ca. 1675 to Hans Martin Paulitsch in Ottmarsheim, Württemberg, Germany. In 1700 he married Rosina Margareta Schneider and immigrated with her and two daughters. The third immigrant family was the family of Hans Georg Majer (George Moyer). He was born in 1674 to Hans and Anna (Henn) Majer (Mayer) in Gross Sachsenheim, Württemberg, Germany. He married Barbara ca. 1707 and together they immigrated with their children. The last family belongs to Johannes Motz (John Motz) who may not have left any descendants and because of this his line was not researched thoroughly. He married Maria Apollonia Maubars in 1716 in Bonfeld, Germany.
The Germanna colony was located in Spotsylvania County but may also have been in part of Orange County, Virginia.
Includes information about the Second Germanna Colony of Virginia and lists of its colonists.
