Phillip Jacob Irion (1733-1794) was born in Lichtenau, Baden, Germany to Phillip Jacob Irion and Maria Catharina Kautz. He came to America in 1764. First record of him in America is in 1765 in Culpepper Co., Virginia. He came to America with two of his four children. He married (1) Barbara Regina Heyler (b. ca. 1732), daughter of Johan Hainrich Heyler and Anna Elisabeth Carmer, in 1751. She was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, and died in Germany ca. 1760. They had four children. He married (2) Sarah Poindexter (b. ca. 1747, d. 1814), daughter of John Poindexter and Christian Gissage, in 1765. She was born in Louisa Co., Virginia. They had ten children, who were born in Culpepper and Bedford Co., Virginia and Rockingham Co., North Carolina.
