Microfilm of originals in the Jefferson County courthouse Birmingham, Alabama.

NOTE: A second courthouse establishing the Bessemer Division, which encompasses the southwest portion of the county, began operation in February of 1916. Matters concerning probated material or property are somewhat more restricted than vital records material. Probates recorded in the Bessemer courthouse are only for those persons who died, resided or owned property in this division of Jefferson County.
