Microfilm of original records at the Dinwiddie County Courthouse in Dinwiddie, Virginia.

Later certificates were recorded with the clerk of the Circuit Court.

Includes general indexes. Except for registers v. 1 and 5, volumes are also individually indexed.

Registers, 1850-1886, contains copies of marriage licenses and returns. Gives date and place of marriage, full names of parties married, ages, marital status, birthplaces, residences, parents' names, name of minister, and date returned. Not all entries give this complete information.

Registers, 1853-1861, 1886-1969, gives date and place of marriage, full name of the parties, ages, marital status, race, birthplaces, residences, parents' names, husband's occupation, and name of person performing marriage ceremony. Later registers also give the date of the marriage license, date of return, and other information.
