William Thornton (d.1708), son of William Thornton and Frances Robinson, emigrated from England to York County, Virginia between 1640 and 1646, moving later to Gloucester County and then to Stafford County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas and elsewhere.
Includes Adams, Dozier, Fleming, Kennon, McMaster, Newman, Rogers and related families.
