Chiefly ancestral and related families of the author, Albert Gallatin Love, III. He was born in 1877 in Carroll County, Tennessee, the son of Albert Gallatin and Rosa Lydia Patton Love. He married Alice Townsend Stone (b. 1881) in 1906 at Sane Francisco, California. He Albert Gallatin Love II (1846-1883) was born in Henry County, Tennessee, the son of Albert Gallatin Love (1814-1851) and Mira Jordan Love (1819-ca. 1862). He married Rosa Lydia Patton in 1870 in Carroll County, Tennessee. They had three children, 1871-1877. He died in Carroll County, Tennessee. Rosa Lydia Patton (1848-1917) was born in Carroll County, Tennessee, the daughter of James H. Patton (1808-1882) and Nancy Hart Patton (1817-1868). She died in Shelby County, Tennessee.

Ancestors include: Samuel Love (d. 1781) of Augusta and Wythe Counties, Virginia -- Edward Jordon (d. 1791) of Halifax County, Virginia -- James Hart (fl. 1740-1757) of Ireland, Chester County, Pennsylvania; and Orange County, North Carolina -- William Patton (1770-1850) of South Carolina, and Cyer and Carroll Counties, Tennessee -- Thomas Dillard (d. 1774) of Pettsylvania County, Virginia.
