William Jerry Grinwood was born five miles from Toronto, Canada, 1 March 1843, the son of William Jerry and Elizabeth Box Grimwood. He served in the 4th Ohio Regiment, Company A, during the Civil War. He married Henrietta Harmon Lybarger (1845-1899), the daughter Jesse and Susannah Geller Lybarger, in Knox County, Ohio, 28 Mar. 1865. They had seven children. They lived in Monroe Mills, Knox County, Ohio; Adrain, Steuben County, New York; Plymouth, Livingston County, Missouri; Cedar Point, Livingston County, Kansas; and Brown, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma Territory. He married 2) Emma Duffield. He died in Brown 15 March 1902. Descendants lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona and elsewhere.

Includes the Lybarger, Simpson, Tarbox and other related families.
