Centerbrook Society in Essex was established May 1722 as Potopaug or North or Second Society in Saybrook by division of the First Society. Part was set off as Chester Society October 1740. It became Centerbrook or Second Society in Old Saybrook on the incorporation of that town from Saybrook in 1852. It became Centerbrook Society in Essex May 1854 on the incorporation of that town from Old Saybrook, with the same bounds as those of this Society.
