James Edmundson (b.1728) immigrated (probably with his parents) from Ireland to Augusta County, Virginia, married Sarah Hays in 1749, and moved in 1783 to Wilkes County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee and elsewhere.
