Notes

Microfilm of original records (P.R.O. no. W.O. 120) filmed at the London Public Record Office.

Lists soldiers who received pensions from the British army. Up to 1843 the information contained is a brief description of the pensioner, age, place of birth, particulars of service and the reason for discharge.

Registers of men receiving pensions between 1845 and 1854 (with additions to 1857) only give the date of the award of the pension, rate of pension and district in which the man received his pension.

From about 1812 dates of death have been noted and in the last series these dates extend to 1877.

Also available on microfilm.
