Joseph Callaway Sr. immigrated about 1665 from England to Virginia; Joseph Callaway Jr. lived in Caroline County, Virginia. Elizabeth Callaway (b.1743) married Francis Thorp in 1762, and their daughter Elizabeth married William Vannerson in 1789. They lived in Campbell County and then Bedford County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and elsewhere.
Includes Cox, Lockhart, Milam, Nesbitt and related families.
